Nicolas was drawn to the field of criminal forensics while studying mechanical engineering and shifted majors to obtain a BSc in Biochemistry and Microbiology. Immigrating to New Zealand from South Africa in 2012, he was employed at Computer Forensics in an operational role. Always being involved and interested in computers, he found that digital forensics was very similar to criminal forensics, but without some of the less desirable aspects of that job. Working his way up in the company he was offered the opportunity to take part in a management buy-out in 2018. His varied background often offers a unique perspective to problem solving, while maintaining the rigorous formal training required for accurate reporting of results.
