Katie Rickson is a copywriter, editor and lived experience expert. Katie is a mum, runs two businesses from home, and lives with a chronic mental health condition.

This means she has had to rethink business and adapt how, when, and where she works. Her mental health awareness and advocacy business is called Compassion Poetry.

She gives tailored presentations to charities, academic groups and corporates, and has been a speaker at MUV Talks and a guest on several podcasts.

She will share tips, tricks, and strategies on developing self-compassion, reframing success, consistency and resilience for a balanced and healthy work environment.

BIO: I am a mortgage broker/adviser based in Auckland. Gratefully I now know how important health and fitness is and how amazing it will make you feel. Have you ever seen people running down the road in what looked to be excruciating pain?? It really doesn’t have to be like that! Let’s take a look at some examples… Have you ever been told you must go to the gym to lose weight – well what if you hate the gym? Or you should run for 30 minutes or don’t bother – what if you hate running or don’t have 30 minutes up your sleeve? You might have been recommended a DIEt because it worked for that person – you may think the food in that DIEt is yuck, so why would you? Maybe a pill to help you lose weight (burn fat) – did you take one to gain weight… NOO. You already know the answers to these questions, they’re all just common sense so keep it simple and ignore the confusing jargon out there.
